Emily Lawler is a local Peachtree City creative and owner of Blue Cicada Studios. Emily opened BC Studios in 2017 with the hope of providing a space of inspiration and artistic development for her local community. Growing up in Peachtree City, Emily always dreamed of a space where she could express her creativity and be in community with other creative people. Her passion is to provide a space where you are free to be yourself and express your inner world through a creative outlet. Emily is in the process of editing her first full length novel and developing a visual series to compliment the theme and heart of the novel. The story features growing up in the South with hints of whimsy and delving into the world of mental health.

Open Studio

In addition to class time, Open Studio is a time when students can utilize the supplies and space of the studio to their advantage. These are non-instructed times where students can continue to work on projects and develop their skills in an inspiring environment alongside their creative peers. (Side Note: From personal experience, I have always found creating in community to be so much more productive than when creating by myself. You are able to bounce ideas off each other and brainstorm in an environment that doesn’t set limits but encourages you to think beyond the boundaries we set on our art- Ms. Emily).

*You must attend at least one instructed class to attend Open Studio.

*While this time is not instructed, it is supervised. You are able to stop in anytime between the designated hours. To start, we will be trying this out for one day a week and hope to add more days in the future if this is something our community loves. It includes the following supplies:

Paint (watercolor, oil, acrylic), brushes, sketching paper (unlimited), pencils, markers, access to the fine art cabinet, canvas sheets/watercolor paper (1 per day)
